Mon.o is Mimi Kobayashi’s personal collection, drawing on her Japanese roots and her life in the UK. She describes taking the spirituality of Japanese zen, with its sense of peace and calm, and setting it against the edge, style and energy of contemporary London. The result is a set of soft, ethereal looks that still carry real strength and movement: the layering and mix of textures speak to the British influence, while the mood and stillness of each image hold on to the zen.
